Marine Lithium Installer Verification Standard

The checks used before an Australian marine lithium installer is described as verified, including identity, qualifications, scope, evidence and review dates.

An installer directory is useful only when readers can see what has—and has not—been checked. A business appearing in a map, supplier list or search result is not automatically endorsed or technically verified.

This standard separates basic directory listings from verified installer profiles and explains the evidence required for each claim.

Listing levels

Directory listing

A directory listing confirms that the business publicly offers relevant marine electrical or battery services in the stated area. It does not mean the site has inspected its work, verified every licence or endorsed the business.

Identity verified

The business name, public contact route, service area and Australian business identity have been checked against current public or supplied information. The verification date is shown.

Technical evidence verified

In addition to identity checks, the business has supplied evidence relevant to the services claimed. This may include licences where applicable, qualifications, insurance, manufacturer training, completed project documentation, references or sample commissioning records.

Installation inspected

The site or a named competent reviewer has inspected a completed installation against a disclosed checklist. This label applies to the inspected project and must not imply that every installation by the business was reviewed.

Core verification checks

  • legal and trading identity;
  • Australian business number where applicable;
  • public address or service area;
  • relevant electrical licensing for work that legally requires it;
  • marine electrical experience;
  • public liability or professional insurance evidence where supplied;
  • battery and equipment brands supported;
  • design, commissioning and handover process;
  • customer references or documented projects; and
  • complaint and correction contact.

Licence requirements differ by jurisdiction and by the AC or DC work involved. The profile must state what was checked rather than use a vague “fully licensed” badge.

Project evidence

Strong evidence includes an as-built diagram, equipment schedule, protection schedule, settings record, commissioning measurements, installation photographs and an owner handover document with private information removed.

A collection of attractive finished photographs without cable, protection, control and commissioning information is not enough to assess technical quality.

Reviews and paid placement

Customer reviews may be summarised only when their source and date are recorded. A review is not treated as proof that an installation complies with a standard.

If the directory later accepts paid placement, the placement must be labelled and must not change the verification result or ranking methodology. Payment cannot purchase “verified” status.

Reverification and removal

Public contact and service information should be checked at least annually. Time-sensitive credentials should be checked against their stated expiry or public register where possible. A profile may be suspended when the business closes, evidence expires, contact repeatedly fails or a material complaint cannot be resolved.

Businesses can submit corrections through the contact page. Readers should still use the independent installer question list and compare detailed written quotes.
